Variation on a Weave – Week 1
Variations on a Weave sounds very musical to me but it best describes what I’ve been working on this week. I’ve woven the same bracelet in 3 ways — argentium sterling, argenium with goldfilled and gold filled with argentium. Sounds kind of boring as I write this but whenever I create a piece with the gold and silver alternating I’m amazed at what a difference it makes — kind of like brothers and sisters.
The same gene pool is used but variations show up. I have 2 younger brothers. When I’m with my middle brother people say we look alike — taller than I, brown hair and on the light complected side. BUT when I’m with my youngest brother (my baby brother who towers over me at 6’4″) people say we look alike — he has very dark hair, almost black and dark eyes that snap and tans easily – about 15 minutes, I think. It always amuses me that as much as we differ everyone always know who I’m related to – kind of like these bracelets.

Love this weave.. love it in different colors… I first taught myself this weave a couple of years ago…but haven’t done it in a long time… love your description! :)
Drools. THAT is simply gorgeous. I don’t do any sort of chain work, so I really appreciate seeing this… fabulous, truly!
Thank you for your kind words. Joella
Those are beautiful! I love the different effects of the mixed metals.
This weave is beautiful! I love how different it looks with each metal combination.
Having no patients for rings (or seed beads) I truly admire work like this! Mixed metals are always a treat! Loved your description of the gene pool and it’s variations!
The variations are great, they all look a little different, but the same….just like your family…lol. Love the story, description and bracelets.
The whole family is gorgeous!
Thanks all!
