Week 7 – ammonite pendant by Abigail

Week 7 - ammonite in pipa by Abigail No green here! This is my second ammonite pendant. I saw an example of Corra Liew’s Pipa knots and had to give it a try. Kind of like trying to hold onto a octopus when you are halfway through, and my twining is awfully inexpert. But it was fun, and I expect I’ll give it another try.

LOL Abigail – your octopus simile is right on! No green, but the weaving just under the bail could pass as Celtic. ;-) I have an ammonite I’ve been saving and you’re inspiring me to dig it out and do something with it.

You’re right about the over-under weaving looking sort of celtic. Neat! A friend wants us to have a booth at the Scottish Games in Arlington, and if I can more or less perfect this technique, and maybe make polymer shamrocks for the center, I might have a hit.
