YOJ Week 13 – The Rolling Mill Cuff by Eva Sherman

YOJ Week 13 - The Rolling Mill Cuff by Eva Sherman

This weekend I had a play date with my good friend Carla Meinberg, who showed me and a few other daring souls the ins and outs of working with a rolling mill. A whole new world of textured metals has now opened up to me and I look at everything, and I mean everything as […]

Colored for sure!

Colored for sure!

I decided that I was going to begin with one thing and ended with this. It’s not as spectacular as some of the things I see here, but it was a lot more work than I considered it to be after beginning. Glass seed beads, hate the plastic ones, are really nicely represented in my […]

Week 13 – Complimentary Colors by Eva Sherman

Week 13 - Complimentary Colors by Eva Sherman

Oh my, that seafoam green, brass and champagne color combo looks simply divine on you! Why thank you, and may I just say that I’m loving the brick leather color, it totally rocks.   You are too kind, but really, it’s the antique copper chain and snaps that pull it all together…. Oh wait, was that […]

Quick Earrings – Leo Rosenstein – Week 13 YOJ 2011

I was quite determined to not fail the challenge in my second week of YOJ, but I had an immensely busy week and a two-day ballroom competition on the weekend…and right now I ought to be studying for tomorrow’s midterm, so we’ll see how that goes. I apologize for the quality of this picture, it […]

YOJ 2011-Week 13-Complimentry Colors-Carol Ladine

I’m kind of running behind this time. Spring has brought with it tons of things needing doing. For this theme I chose the complementary colors of yellow and purple. The beads are Czech Fire Polish and the metal is Sterling. This style of earrings is one of my favorites.

burlesque by Sharon Gardner

burlesque by Sharon Gardner

Gah, I was working on a lovely little Yin Yang pendant for this weeks theme in silver and copper with rivets. But without thinking I used an aluminium rivet and it all went downhill from there. The aluminium went a bit dintegrate-y in the pickle and my attempts to rescue it just made it all […]

Complements, Compliments – Week 13 – Sandy @ SCJ Jewelry Design

I admit I was glad to see a photo of the color wheel for this week’s theme.  Not coming from an art backround, I had a vague recollection of the color wheel, but wasn’t sure of the opposite colors.  I had this Sonora Sunset (Cuprite Chrysocolla) stone in my stock and thought it would be […]

Week 13-Leafy Vine Earrings-Nancy Wickman

These are made from Hill Tribe leaves and andalusite beads. The complementary colors come from the sprinkling of vessuvianite and garnet beads. The tiny coils are messed up at the ends. I had them nicely on a length of 26 gauge fine silver balled up at the end. But both of the balls broke off […]

Week 13 YOJ Party Like It’s Really Spring by Carolyn Adams-Price

The theme of complementary colors inspired me to go a little wild with the furnace glass beads and the craft wire.  I wonder how well this piece will do at my craft show, the day before Easter?  I hope someone buys it and makes their Easter outfit really pop!

Week 13: My Complements by Linda Sorcie

There’s nothing like rich, smooth, glowing pearls around the neck, and this necklace is lush with intertwined circles of beautiful freshwater pearls in complementary colors. This week, I needed the tranquility-induced zen of holding and working with these gleaming little beads.  I made little hoop earrings to match.

week 13~Complimentary Colors by DLGray-Wurz

I have always loved purple paired with green. That being said, I paired amethyst with green apatite. My muse has been obsessed with earrings lately. =)

Week 13- YOJP 2011 – “Key Memories” by Michelle Buettner

Complimentary Colors Theme: “Key Memories!” uses 20g bronze craft wire ‘chaos’ wrapped over recycled sari silk with 3 charms attached – a key, a memories word charm and the round $1.00 coin my hubby and son smashed on the train tracks last year at the beach in California during spring break – great memories!

Week 13 – Flutterby – Bonstitches

The bead embroidered butterfly pendant started out to be a cuff bracelet but I have small wrists and the the butterfly was too big at just over 3 1/2″ so I cut it out, backed it with Ultrasuede and turned it into the pendant for a necklace. The seed beads are 15/0s and the body […]
